Day of the Dead, Bahamas in concert, and a Robyn-themed Dance Party

Spooky season is over, but you can’t let that stop you from making the most of your weekend with all of the exciting events taking place across the city.

There will be awesome concerts from artists like the Bahamas and Pond, and other exciting events like Day of the Dead celebrations and parties at museums. Check out these five events you can’t miss out on this weekend.


Royal Ontario Museum | November 2, 7:00 pm – 11:30 pm | Tickets

Head to the ROM this Friday to take part in their weekly party, Friday Night Live. This week, the theme is Vox, so you’ll be able to find art, culture, and nature remixed to have a voice of their own. Celebrate the power of your voice and the voices around you with some of the top DJs and live artists in the city. You’ll also have access to look at your favourite ROM exhibitions as you try some tasty food and drinks.

Day of the Dead

Harbourfront Centre | November 3, 12 pm – 7 pm | November 4, 12 pm – 6 pm | Free

This Saturday and Sunday, the Harbourfront Centre will be celebrating the 15th anniversary of its Day of the Dead/Día de los Muertos event, which incorporates the ancient and modern traditions of Mexico’s holiday about life, heritage, and family histories. The event will have an evolution of ofrendas including both traditional and contemporary celebrations of the dead.

Catch a Concert

Bahamas played the Danforth Music Hall last night, and he’ll be performing a remarkable three more shows at the East end venue every night this weekend. You’ll be able to head to three nights of Afie Jurvanen’s subtly beautiful tracks between November 2nd and November 4th.

Head to the Phoenix Concert Theatre tonight to catch American alternative rock band, They Might Be Giants. Shannon And The Clams will also be performing this weekend on Saturday at Lee’s Palace, where you’ll be able to catch their vintage indie garage punk tracks.

Local Toronto indie outfit, Monowhales, will be hitting up the Rivoli on November 3rd with some special guests. Lastly, Pond will be wrapping up the weekend by bringing their Australian psychedelic rock tunes to The Opera House this Sunday.

Missing U: Robyn Dance Party

This Saturday, you better “Call Your Girlfriend” and bring them along with you to the Mod Club to celebrate Robyn’s new album, Honey. The event will boast all of the unapologetically pop singer’s hit tracks and new tunes. Tickets are only $10, which is definitely worth it to spend a night with friends dancing along to some of the best track from our Swedish Queen of Pop.

Hudson’s Bay Holiday Window Unveiling

Move over Halloween, hello Christmas. This Sunday, Hudson’s Bay and Saks Fifth Avenue will be unveiling their annual unbelievably festive windows. The highly anticipated event takes place at the shared entrance to Hudson’s Bay and Saks Fifth Avenue where you’ll even be able to catch a holiday themed performance from Carly Rae Jepsen.
