FKA twigs, The Weeknd share video for new collaborative single ‘Tears in the Club’

FKA twigs and The Weekend have shared a video for their new collaborative track, “Tears in the Club.”

The new track was produced by Arca, Cirkut, and El Guincho. “Tears in the Club” follows FKA twigs’ recently released Central Cee collaboration, “Measure Of A Man.” Lyrically, FKA twigs sings lines like, “Tears in the club ’cause your love has got me fucked up.” Twigs’ silky vocals take the lead atop a club ready beat, making for a poppier sound than that of her last album, Magdalene.

The accompanying video, directed by Amber Grace Johnson, opens with FKA twigs’ face split into a sort of disheveled mask. It sees The Weeknd crying as he watches twigs dance. At one point in the video, The Weeknd is shrunk down to the size of her hand, and stands on her finger as she sings along to the tune.

Back in September, FKA twigs teased that she has a new “deep, emotional and honest” mixtape on the way. While chatting with fans on Discord, FKA twigs announced that her “next project is a mixtape.” During the chat, she said that it’ll be “deep, emotional and honest.” In terms of a release date, twigs says that she’s “thinking about a Capri season takeover.” Could it potentially align with her birthday, which is on January 17th?

While “Measure Of A Man” likely won’t appear on the mixtape, “Tears In The Club” very well could. Twigs also teased that potential collaborators could include Koreless, El Guincho, Cirkut, Mike Dean, Arca, and more. Considering this track was produced by Arca, Cirkut, and El Guincho, this track likely appears on the record.
