Preaching to the proverbial choir Sunday night, Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon was of many notable celebrities who voiced their distaste of Bruno Mars’ Best Album Of The Year win at the Grammy’s. Mars, who won awards in every category he was nominated for, beat out Kendrick Lamar, Jay-Z and more artists who critics and fans initially poised to have won. “Absolutely NO offense to Mr Mars, but you absolutely have to be shitting me,” Vernon wrote.
On Monday night, Fleet Foxes singer Robin Pecknold added his displeasure, posting a harsh burn towards the 24K Magic singer over Instagram Stories.
The singer reacted to a New York Times article, posting a screenshot with his thoughts. “Grammy opinion: Aside from Kendrick [Lamar] / SZA / Jay-Z nothing that was nominated was very good in my opinion.” He continued, adding a deep and painful burn “but to give it all to Toys R Us Gap Band is pretty ridic.”

He later added “Every AOTY nominee was great except one and the single mediocre one won. I’m not mad I’m just….disappointed.” He later posted an Instagram story reacting to Pitchfork’s reporting of his sweet, sweet burn.
