It looks likes New Zealand’s favorite duo Flight of the Conchords might be getting the band back together.
In an interview with Indiewire, Jermaine Clement finally confirmed the long time rumor that he and his co-member Bret McKenzie would follow up to their hit HBO TV show and radio series Flight of the Conchords with a full-featured length film.
“We have actually started writing one” Clement explained. Though don’t expect this project any time soon, as the project is only in it’s initial writing stage: “But who knows if it will ever be made, we’ve written some notes for some different film ideas. We’re not down to the stage where we’re going, ‘The film is going to be like this,’ it could be this, this, this, this, this.”
Whether or not the film actually does happen, We’ll still be able to look forward to a F.O.T.C. reunion tour, as Consequence of Sound reports. “We were planning on doing it this summer, but then I ended up doing The BFG instead,” referring to the Big Friendly Giant film Clement has been busy filming.
“But we are hoping to announce a tour. We’ll announce it before the end of the year, hopefully, and then some time next year get on the road … after we get some new guitar strings and that sort of thing.”
Until then, bring back the memories with this Conchords classic.
