The tribute concert will feature performances from Foo Fighters alongside Rush’s Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones, Liam Gallagher, Queen’s Roger Taylor and Brian May, Nirvana’s Krist Novoselic, and many more.
Taking place on September 3rd at London’s Wembley Stadium, fans from across the world will be able to tune in starting at 11:30 a.m. EST. The Taylor Hawkins tribute concert will be followed by a one-hour special with highlight clips. The special is set to air beginning at 10:00 p.m. EST on CBS on the same day. After that, a full recording of the show will be available to stream on-demand on paramount+, MTV, and Pluto TV beginning the week of September 5th.
The concert will also feature performances from Travis Barker, Metallica’s Lars Ulrich, AC/DC’s Brian Johnson, James Gang, Kesha, Josh Freese, Violet Grohl, and Taylor’s son, Shane Hawkins.
Later on in the month, on September 27th, a second tribute concert will take place at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum. It also features some big appearances, featuring acts like Rush’s Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, Alanis Morissette, Miley Cyrus, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith, Rage Against The Machine’s Brad Wilk, and many more.
Ticket sales and merch sales from both of the shows are set to benefit Music Support and MusiCares, which are two charities chosen by the Hawkins family.
