Vancouver musician Rich Priske has died at the age of 52.

Priske had performed with Matthew Good Band on three albums, and played with Matthew Good on three of his solo records as well. The cause of death has not been given.

“I was sad to hear of the passing of MGB bassist Rich Priske,” Good wrote in an Instagram post over the weekend. “My deepest condolences go out to his friends and family.”

Priske also performed with artists such as Bif Naked and the Real McKenzies. 54-40 guitarist Dave Genn played in several bands with Priske, including Matthew Good Band between 1995 and 2001.

“Hardest working bass player in Vancouver, best bass player in Vancouver,” Genn remembered Priske to Global News.

“If you were a fan of Canadian rock and roll in the 90s, you are familiar with his work. His basslines are all over the place, he played with so many bands.”
