Former Sleater-Kinney drummer Janet Weiss provides update after major car accident

Her doctors suggest 12 weeks of recovery time

Former Sleater-Kinney drummer Janet Weiss has offered up an update for her fans about her health after she was involved in a serious car accident.

The drummer, who revealed she was leaving Sleater-Kinney last month, revealed she was recovering after the accident earlier this month, which left her with a broken leg and collar bone. This weekend, Weiss tweeted out a photo of stitches on her right leg, and thanked fans for their constant support.

“After 5 nights in the hospital, I’m happily settling into my home routine and feeling positive, basking in the overriding feelings of luck and gratitude and relief that [Quasi bandmate Drew Gow] and I survived the accident,” Weiss wrote. Her doctors suggest 12 weeks of recovery time, forcing her current band Quasi to postpone their forthcoming tour.
