The former HMV store near Yonge and Dundas square is set to be taken over by a legal cannabis shop.
Tokyo Smoke, which currently has several legal cannabis storefronts in Winnipeg, will be setting up shop in the former HMV store even though they were not one of the five lottery winners of legal cannabis licences in Toronto. Instead, the company teamed up with a winner to open the new store together.

“We came to an agreement with one of the Ontario lottery winners to utilize our brand for their Toronto store,” Tokyo Smoke explained in a statement. “The lottery winner will have full ownership and control over the Toronto store.”
Tokyo Smoke is currently scheduled to open up shop on April 1st, and no, that’s not an April Fool’s joke.
