The worlds of Star Wars and Game of Thrones are about to collide, as the next Star Wars film to be released following December’s The Rise of Skywalker is set to come from Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.

According to Consequence of Sound, Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed the news today at the MoffettNathanson 6th Annual Media & Communications Summit, and the confirmation followed a recent report that announced that Disney will be taking over Star Wars live-action remakes for the foreseeable future.
Now, it’s also been revealed that the new films taking place in a galaxy far far away are set to begin in 2022.
