Tons of videos to consume this week. We see new official music videos from Pup, Coldplay, Cut Copy, and London Grammar. Jay Malinowski plays a tune in the Collective Arts Black Box, and we catch up with Sam Roberts Band. And finally, watch The Walkmen perform their last set ever (possibly).
1. Pup – My Shadow (Jay Reatard Cover)
Toronto punk rockers pay tribute to the late Jay Reatard by covering his classic song, “My Shadow”. See if you can spot Indie88’s Raina crowd surfing in the video.
2. Jay Malinowski – Patience Phipps (Collective Arts Black Box Session)
You may remember Jay from Bedouin Soundclash. He’s got another project on the go and stopped by the Indie88 Collective Arts Black Box with his keyboard to play us his new single.
3. Coldplay – Midnight
Out of the blue Coldplay shared this new song and video with the world. It’s not the familiar Coldplay sound but have a listen and see what you think!
4. Chatting with Sam Roberts Band
Sam Roberts and guitarist Dave Nugent stopped by to record a song in the Collective Arts Black Box (video coming soon), and we got them talking about their song writing process, opinions on “selling out”, and their love of the Canadian Tuxedo.
5. Cut Copy – We Are Explorers
Perhaps the first ever band to use 3D printers in the making of their music video. Watch these little green guys explore a giant city. You can even download and print them out at home (if you have access to a 3D printer).
6. The Walkmen play their last show
The Walkmen announced that they’d be going on an ‘extreme hiatus’ and recently played what might be their last show ever during an NBA all star game.
7. London Grammar – Hey Now
Around a year ago “Hey Now” put London Grammar on the map and they’ve recently shared some visuals to the song.
