Friday’s Video Picks

This week's must see vids feature some new cuts, a couple great covers, and a few Indie88 originals

This Friday’s Video Picks sees new cuts from MGMT, The Darcys, and Franz Ferdinand. Watch NYC duo MS MR and English rockers Arctic Monkeys perform awesome covers at BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge. The Wooden Sky Traveling Adventure Show (Part 4) is up, Carlin gets his feet wet in his first video interview ever with Alt-J, and last but not least, watch Ohbijou play a song at their farewell show in Toronto.

1. MGMT – “Cool Song No. 2”

The video stars Omar from The Wire, enough said.

2. The Wooden Sky Traveling Adventure Show (Part 4)

Another magical video from the event captures the band’s performance of “Take Me Out.”

3. Carlin chats with Alt-J

Carlin chats with Gus and Gwil from Alt-J in his first ever video interview. There is some epic footage from the show in here too.

4. The Darcys – “Muzzle Blast”

The Darcys’ new video is satisfying to watch as a young woman wanders around an abandoned city and finds peace in a beautiful run-down cathedral.

5. Franz Ferdinand – “Evil Eye”

Franz Ferdinand’s new morbidly humourous video is directed by Diane Martel, director of Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” and Miley Cyrus’ “We Can’t Stop.” Intrigued?

6. MS MR “Do I Wanna Know?” (Arctic Monkeys Cover)

Lizzy Plapinger’s sultry vocals make this track ever sexier, if that’s possible.

7. Arctic Monkeys “Hold On, We’re Going Home” (Drake Cover)

An unexpected pairing with excellent results.

8. Ohbijou performs “Niagara” for the last time

Can’t help but feel nostalgic watching Ohbijou’s farewell performance of their popular song, “Niagara.”
