Google has released its annual “Year in Search” report highlighting the top searches of 2022. The New York Times’ Wordle topped the list, peaking earlier this year when it was acquired by the media company. Much of the year’s searches were dominated by headlines around the conflict in Ukraine, the World Cup, celebrity deaths, and the slap heard around the world.
