Gorillaz ‘enraged’ by George Floyd’s death, police brutality

Gorillaz refused to stay silent on #BlackOutTuesday

Gorillaz were one of the many musical outfits who took part in #BlackOutTuesday yesterday, but unlike many artists who simply shared a black square, Gorillaz shared a message to prove that they would not stay silent.

“Gorillaz are enraged at the death of George Floyd and many before him at the hands of systemic racism and police brutality,” the band wrote on Instagram. “It’s time to be the change and play an active part in the fight for justice and equality.”

Alongside their message, they shared an image of Russel Hobbs and 2-D in black t-shirts that read “Be The Change” across the front.
