‘Gossip Girl’ is officially getting rebooted

Unfortunately, it's not with the original cast

Hey, Upper East Siders.

After it was revealed that CW was discussing a potential Gossip Girl reboot, it has been announced that the scandalous New York-based show is officially making a comeback. The new show will be created for the HBO Max streaming app, and will highlight a brand new group of drama-filled teens.

“Eight years after the original website went dark, a new generation of New York private school teens are introduced to the social surveillance of Gossip Girl,” an official statement explains. “The prestige series will address just how much social media – and the landscape of New York itself – has changed in the intervening years.”

XOXO, Gossip Girl.
