The retro-pop single is a perfect preview of Good Fortune’s ’60s pop-influenced sound. With surf-rock guitars and sparkling synths, “Feelin It” is a nostalgic tune with a modern twist. The accompanying psychedelic video for the track was made in collaboration with animator Adrienne Mountain. McNulty and Mountain used collage, stop motion, and digital animation to tell the story of the track.
“This song explores the experience of having someone very close to you suffering from depression and the helplessness, insecurity and frustration that you can feel while trying to work through it with them,” Good Fortune explains. “Whether a family member, friend or partner, it can be hard to know how to be there for someone and how to help their recovery without losing yourself in it.”

“We spent a lot of time working on how to portray the ‘puppet’ character and what imagery to use to illustrate the character’s ups and downs,” Good Fortune adds of the video. “Going through stacks and stacks of books and pieces I’d cut out, we found images to build scenes that Adrienne and I felt gave both a sense of emptiness, as well as a sense of overhwelmedness. The puppet character was designed by artist Ira Bodnaruk. His quasi-astronaut suit represents the character’s defense mechanisms that keep them from truly connecting with the world.”
