Green Day play some classic hits at first show since the start of the pandemic

Green Day recently performed their first full concert since the start of the pandemic.

Before embarking on their Hella Mega Tour with Fall Out Boy and Weezer later this week, the trio took to Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa. During the set, Green Day performed a whole slew of some of their massive hits. Concertgoers were gifted with performances of “Welcome To Paradise,” “Jesus Of Suburbia,” and “Boulevard Of Broken Dreams.”

They also played other fan favourites like “When I Come Around.” The rowdy show seems like it was packed with nostalgia. While the Hella Mega Tour was originally set to make a stop in Toronto, a rescheduled date has not been announced.

Check out some clips of the concert and its setlist below.

Back in May, Green Day surprise released an inspiring new tune called “Pollyanna.” The track comes packed with driven riffs and uplifting lyrics. Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong sings lines like, “Don’t let ’em get you down/ Don’t let ’em push you ’round/ We’re gonna take back the night/ Everything’s gonna be alright.”

“Better days are looking up the road, and to celebrate we just dropped a brand new song,” the band wrote on social media. Listen to “Pollyanna” here.
