Grimes and Elon Musk celebrated the birth of their son this week, even revealing the boy’s peculiar name, which is “X Æ A-12.” Now, Grimes has taken to Twitter to break down her son’s strange moniker, leaving the internet with even more questions.
X Æ A-12 is apparently a combination of some of Grimes and Musk’s favourite things. “X” stands for “the unknowable variable,” Æ stands for Grimes’ “elven spelling of Ai (love &/or Artificial intelligence),” and “A-12” stands for the “precursor to SR-17 (our favourite aircraft). No weapons, no defences, just speed. Great in battle, but non-violent.”
Check out Grimes’ full explanation below.
•X, the unknown variable ??
•Æ, my elven spelling of Ai (love &/or Artificial intelligence)
•A-12 = precursor to SR-17 (our favorite aircraft). No weapons, no defenses, just speed. Great in battle, but non-violent ?
(A=Archangel, my favorite song)
(??? metal rat)
