The upbeat new track appears on the soundtrack to the forthcoming film The Last Letter From Your Lover. “After finding a trove of love letters from 1965, a reporter sets out to solve the mystery of a secret affair – while embarking on a romance of her own,” Netflix’s official synopsis of the film reads.
The uplifting sounds of “Cherry Flavored Stomach Ache” contrast the lyrics completely. Throughout the track, HAIM sing of how “I’m not gonna see you anymore/ ‘Cause you’re not strong enough/ And you’re not smart enough/ And you’re not cool enough.”

Produced by Dave Fridmann and Ariel Rechstshaid, its HAIM’s first proper release since Women In Music Pt. III. In the meantime, the sister trio shared their own twist on “Christmas Wrapping.” They also collaborated with Taylor Swift for a remix of “Gasoline” and featured on her album evermore.
This new tune isn’t the only thing HAIM have in the works with Netflix. Earlier this year, Netflix announced (via Deadline) that they’d be creating “original music” for the animated musical The Witch Boy.
