Missing the sweet deals in advance of legendary Toronto bargain store Honest Ed’s before it closes for good? Luckily you’ll be able to give the beloved annex landmark a proper sendoff because a Toronto organization is hosting a mega-party inside the space early next year.
The Centre for Social Innovation (CSI) is hosting the “the first, last and only event” held at Honest Ed’s before it’s closure and transformation in 2017, called “Toronto For Everyone“. The event will be a multi-day, “multidisciplinary, immersive and interactive experience” including a dance party, a market and various other programs.
CSI is currently holding an open call for suggestions and submissions for events to be held within the massive lot. The non-profit organization hopes to “honour the legacy of Honest Ed’s and celebrate the future of Toronto”, by bringing together the best of Toronto’s diverse communities and cultures. Toronto For Everyone will take place February 23-26, 2017 inside the emptied Honest Ed’s space.
