IDLES rip through punk cover of Metallica’s ‘The God That Failed’

IDLES have shared a punky new cover of Metallica’s “The God That Failed.”

The Bristol punks added their own twist to the 1991 track. Produced by IDLES’ lead guitarist Mark Bowen, the cover arrives as part of the 52-track tribute album, The Metallica Blacklist.

Of course, IDLES rip through the single with their distinctive rowdy sound. Frontman Joe Talbot brings his distinctive growl atop driven guitars and unbelievable drum lines. This is “The God That Failed” like you’ve never heard it before, and it truly feels like an IDLES original.
