Tim Horton’s teamed up with Canadian singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes to launch a limited edition coffee cup featuring an image of Mendes, roses from his current album, maple leaves, and the words “proudly Canadian. Selling out the Rogers Centre affords an artist these types of opportunities.
Mendes’ appearance on Tim’s coffee cups did not go unnoticed by Toronto’s The Beaches. The all-female quartet took to Twitter to lobby another local coffee shop for a cup of their own, and it’s extremely on-brand for them. The Beaches, jokingly(?), asked Coffee Time to help them land their own limited edition paper cup. With a location in the Upper Beaches, there’s absolutely no reason why this shouldn’t happen!
If @ShawnMendes can have a cup dedicated to him at Tim Hortons, surely we could have one dedicated to us at Coffee Time?@CoffeeTimeCAN pic.twitter.com/BMCMcfktHG

Mendes plays a sold-out Rogers Centre on Friday. The Beaches are touring North America through the end of September. C’mon Coffee Time, battle those java giants’ pumpkin spice products with a little locally-flavoured promotion featuring The Beaches?
