David Bowie – “Space Oddity”

A new David Bowie tribute album called Modern Love is set for release in May 2021 via BBE, and it’s set to highlight the influence of Black music and culture on Bowie’s catalogue. On January 8th, Bowie’s birthday, We Are KING will release their cover of “Space Oddity,” which you can preview here. In celebration of the release, we’ve resurfaced David Bowie’s version of the track. Listen above!
 

 

Pixies – “Monkey Gone To Heaven”

End Of The Road festival has officially announced its 2021 lineup, and it sees Pixies headlining, so listen to “Monkey Gone To Heaven” in celebration! End Of The Road, which takes place at Larmer Tree Gardens in the UK from September 2nd to 5th, is set to see performances from King Krule, Big Thief, Bright Eyes, Perfume Genius, and more. Beastie Boys – “Sabotage”

Dave Grohl and Greg Kurstin have shared a cover of Beastie Boys’ “Sabotage,” so we’re resurfacing the original as well! December 10th marked the first night of Hanukkah, and to celebrate the holiday, Dave Grohl and Greg Kurstin are covering tracks from Jewish artists for each of the eight nights. The new cover comes with a clip of Grohl and Kurstin recording the track in studio, as Grohl sings and takes to the drums while Kurstin plays the keys. Prince – “Nothing Compares 2 U”

Back in 2016, Chris Cornell recorded an album of 10 cover songs, and today the late singer’s family have released it as No One Sings Like You Anymore. The album features a cover of Prince’s “Nothing Compares 2 U,” so take a listen to the cover here, or the original above! “This moment is bittersweet because he should be here doing it himself, but it is with both heartache and joy that we share this special album,” Vicky Cornell explains.
 

 

Joy Division – “Atmosphere”

James Blake has shared his new Covers EP today, which features a cover of Joy Division’s “Atmosphere.” The new collection comes packed with emotive reworkings from Blake, including covers of Frank Ocean’s “Godspeed,” Beyonce’s “OTHERSIDE,” Billie Eilish’s “when the party’s over,” and more.
