It’s hard to believe that Indie88 has been on the air for two whole years now, and for that we thank YOU. Last night we celebrated our second birthday party at The Phoenix for a night of good friends, good music, and good memories. Here’s what went down.
The evening kicked off with a special acoustic performance from Born Ruffians where Luke Lalonde melted some very lucky winners’ hearts. As fans began to flood The Phoenix, Brendan Canning (Broken Social Scene) got the party off to a groovy start with his crate of vinyl.
Vancouver boys The Zolas brought the energy as the first performance of the night, followed by an electrifying set from Toronto’s Brave Shores. Dear Rouge captured the crowd’s attention with their undeniable onstage chemistry and dancey jams. Anticipation grew for Born Ruffians to take the stage as announcers charmed the crowd with t-shirt cannons and two listeners got the ultimate loot bag: trips to Vegas from our friends over at Expedia. Indie88 Birthday Party headliners Born Ruffians did not disappoint. Fans sang along to old favourites and got a glimpse into the new record, RUFF.
It was a magical night. Thanks to everyone who helped make it happen! Check out all the photos below.
