Indie88 Hosts Second Annual Halloween Blood Drive

TORONTO, ON (Friday, October 24, 2014) – The sharks won’t be the only ones looking for blood this Saturday. Indie88 will be live from Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada from 12 noon to 5 pm for their 2nd Annual Halloween Blood Drive! Forget vampires; this Halloween season, Toronto radio station Indie88 (CIND-FM) is teaming up once again with Canadian Blood Services to suck your blood and put it to good use.

“Partners like Indie88 are invaluable for us in terms of raising awareness and educating the public about the need for blood donors,” said Beth Frise, Canadian Blood Services.

This fall, Canadian Blood Services launched an official appeal to urge Canadians to donate blood immediately to increase the critically low blood inventory. Tragic events this week have reinforced the need for Canadian Blood Services to be prepared for the unexpected.

“Events like the tragedy in Ottawa remind us all how quickly a crisis can occur. Giving blood is a way all Canadians can make an immediate and personal contribution towards critical situations. Plus, it’s kinda neat to say you helped save someone’s life,” said Program Director, Adam Thompson.

Roll up your sleeve and join Indie88 on-air presenters and local musicians to make a donation at Indie88’s 2nd Annual Halloween Blood Drive. Listeners can also support the Blood Drive year-round, by registering for the Indie88 Partners for Life team either at the Halloween Blood Drive or at Indie88.com. Stop in to make a life-saving donation on-site or chat with representatives from Canadian Blood Services to learn more and book an appointment to give blood. You’ll also be able to enjoy some great music and trick-or-treat with the Indie88 Street Team for prizes, including passes to visit Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada!
