Audrey is the latest creative endeavour from Emmy Award-winning actress Brittany Allen. While she’s best known for her roles on All My Children and Bomb Girls, Allen couldn’t sit idle while the world seemingly spiraled into chaos over the past year. Indie88 is pleased to premiere Audrey’s “The Impossible,” in which Allen channels her anger into a musical outlet in the vein of Peaches, Garbage and Dot Allison.
“I wrote the track from a place of looking at the world and how fucked up it all seemed to be, and wondering if it was too late to grab the attention of our complacent, self involved society and get them to KICK IT UP, actually make positive change,” Allen said in a release. “And then Trump was elected, and literally the night after he was, we recorded vocals, and I funneled all my rage into the words.”
The video for the “The Impossible” was shot and directed by Colin Minihan in Berlin. The song was co-produced by Blitz//Berlin, M. Lobel and A. Naranjo of Future PEERS, and Allen.
In addition to launching Audrey, Allen’s latest movie Jigsaw hits theatres later this week.
