Gearing up for his forthcoming album, The Skid Is Hot Tonight, BA Johnston has just released a raucous new track called “Geddy Lee.”
The upbeat, quirky tune has a groovy, playful guitar line as BA croons unconventional, yet endearingly authentic lines like “I’m listening to Rush/ It drives her nuts/ Sometimes I think I listen to Rush just because it drives her nuts.”

Johnston was “playing music when your parents met at the Pigs Ear Tavern in 1995,” according to a bio, and now he’s set to release his 12th studio album on his fifth record label. The Skid Is Hot Tonight was recorded in rural Nova Scotia and contains songs about stealing hash, almost dying in a car crash, and also almost dying at a Van Halen concert. Keep your eyes peeled for the record, which is set for release on February 22nd.
