Indie88 Premiere: Ben Wylen shares new lyric video for debut single ‘People Say’

Wylen's debut album is set for release on November 6

While gearing up for the release of his vulnerable 12-track record People Say, which drops on November 6th, Ben Wylen has shared a new lyric video for the album’s title track.

“Most of my family and friends work jobs they don’t enjoy,” Wylen explains of the track. “They kill themselves day in and day out and they never give themselves a chance to find out who they really are and who they want to be. ‘People Say’ is about the struggle of self-discovery. We don’t have much time on this earth, so we ought to make the most of the time we do have. There is more to life than working all the time.”

The new Dassie Studio-designed lyric video sees lines like “People say we’re wasting all our time/ Searching for things we weren’t meant to find/ But that’s all we have” scrawled in a sort of black paint, allowing the track’s powerful lyricism to truly shine.
