Indie88 Premiere: Cat Clyde shares acoustic version of ‘Mama Said’

Clyde's acoustic album 'Good Bones' drops on June 19

Folky singer-songwriter Cat Clyde has shared an acoustic rendition of her hit track “Mama Said.”

The sweet, driven acoustic version of the track is stripped back to a simple, yet powerful acoustic guitar line as Clyde delivers silky vocals over top. Clyde’s poetic lyricism has a new vulnerable twist in this tender version, as she delivers lines like, “Mama said/ We’ve gotta change the sky/ So she won’t have to cry.”

“I have been doing solo tours for the past three years, playing this song more than any other, just me and my guitar,” Clyde explains. “I really wanted to capture that vibe of the song and have a timestamp recording for all the times I’ve played it so far.”
