Toronto pop rock outfit Jane’s Party have dropped a lyric video for their dance track “Straight From The Heart.”
The silky tune comes with an energetic instrumental line featuring a driven percussion line, weaving guitar riffs, and a smooth, dreamy ambiance. “If anyone’s ever been in a relationship where things get away from you or you say the wrong things but know deep down that you can move past it, this song is for you,” the band’s Devon explains to Indie88.
The accompanying lyric video comes packed with flickering shots of film rolls. “I’m a real sucker for TV series intros, especially for detective shows like Mind Hunter, Making A Murderer, True Detective, etc,” Jane’s Party’s Tom explains of the video. “I asked myself what would a detective series style intro look like for ‘Straight From The Heart?’ To me, the song lyrics capture these perfect little snapshots of what life with a loved one is like. I felt like the moving film strips were a literal portrayal of those snapshots.”
