Independent solo artist Jom Comyn has released a vintage black-and-white video for “Change Your Mind.”
The gritty track revolves around a burst of electric guitars, a pounding drum beat, and frontman Jim Cuming’s crooning vocals. The silky, distorted tune is sure to stick with you, as Cuming’s witty lyricism takes the forefront with lines like, “Unfilter your frozen oceans/ Dance over this door it’s open/ Come and change your mind.”
The Laura La France-directed video for the track, which features Edmonton comedian Tim Mikula, “is about renewal, about walking away from an old life, about shedding a layer of yourself – literally – as Jim imitates a friend into the time-honoured ritual of the hot shave,” La France explains. “Shot and improvised entirely on Super 8 film at Barber Blonde in Edmonton, Alberta.”
