Juniper Bush have shared a stunning, powerful new video for “Turn.”
The gritty tune revolves around layers of distorted guitars and silky, almost ambient vocals that feel as though they’re crawling out from beneath the instrumental. The accompanying clip fits the track perfectly, as it follows a woman in a white dress and red mask dancing in an empty apartment.
“I had a vision for the video where I saw this figure dancing in a flowing white dress,” vocalist and guitarist Lizzy Burt tells Indie88. “That vision catapulted into the idea of a dance of self-deception and struggle for clarity in a one-sided romance. In the video, the figure is a representation of self, the bag symbolizes the instability of a troubled relationship, and the chair signifies the wisdom and truth and the space between fantasy and reality. When you are unfamiliar with what a healthy relationship looks like, you learn through experience and hardship to find that sense of truth. That’s what the song and dance express.”
