Berlin-based Canadian duo Kliffs have announced their debut album Temporary Cures, which is set for release on November 29th, and as part of the announcement they’ve released a video for “Outside of Cool V2.”
“We hung a white sheet over a metal pole, bought some beer, charged up our two iPhones, and asked Marlène Colle (of Yippie Yeah) to show us some dance moves, and then started recording,” band member Mark Bérubé explains. “This is what came out, pure low-fi vibes from Berlin.”
“Outside of Cool V2” is a perfectly melancholic groove, with a silky bass line, soft keys, and crooning vocals with falsetto harmonies. The accompanying video fits the track perfectly, as Colle stands in front of sheets, singing and dancing along to the track, interspersed with clips of the duo taking part in some quirky coordinated movements.
