Toronto-based indie pop artist Little Coyote has dropped a video for her newest single, “Dig Up My Grave.”
“‘Dig Up My Grave’ is a song about four different breakups that happened all at once in my life last summer,” Little Coyote explains. “Although the nature of each breakup and relationship were different I found a connective theme in each relationship of toxicity. ‘Dig Up My Grave’ speaks to not only moving on from toxic relationships, but of wanting more from the people in my life. People with home I would not find a relationship grave and if we were to get there, they would fight with me to bring us back.”
The melancholic, gloomy track comes packed with a beautifully elaborate, yet sparse piano line and a pounding percussion line, as Little Coyote’s silky vocals take the lead before the track explodes into an empowering anthem. The accompanying video suits the track perfectly as a set of dancers, including Little Coyote herself, move powerfully in a sparse room with a pile of dirt in the centre.

You can catch Little Coyote on September 7th for Grolsch and Sofar Sounds, which will be hosted at a secret location.
