Curtis Godino Presents The Midnight Wishers have shared a video for their new single “No Place Like Home.” The clip comes as part of the announcement for their upcoming self-titled album, out February 11th via Shimmy-Disc/Joyful Noise Recordings.
The hazy, psychedelic new tune is definitely a must-listen. “No Place Like Home” sees The Midnight Wishers channeling ghostly arrangements on an organ and adding in a drum machine, guitar, and glockenspiel. With dreamy, fuzzed out melodies, the track some how lies between dreams and waking life. The accompanying video is equally trippy, with blurry clips of the band performing in front of a bright coloured background.
Godino says that “No Place Like Home” is “a liminal love song.” You can really hear that in the lyrics, as lead vocalist Jin Lee sings lines like, “When you close your eyes, I’ll be watching you from the other side.”

A press release describes The Midnight Wishers as:
“What if a cute girl group scored a hit song about a car crash, then actually died in a car crash, but decades later, David Lynch conjured their spirits for a beach-themed Halloween special?”
“I’ve always been a fan of girl groups and old generic love songs,” The Midnight Wishers’ Godino explains. “No matter how cheesy, they always get stuck in my head, so I decided I would try to make some of my own, with the help of my friends.”
