Toronto native’s HIGHS took the name Dazzle Camouflage off their upcoming debut LP quite literally, when at the drawing boards for this video premiere.
The aesthetic of HIGHS “I Do, Do You?” conceptual video, meets somewhere in the middle between baroque-chic fashion and an 80’s decor fascination with twee floral. Visually intriguing and subtly overwhelming, the five-piece band find themselves lost in a sea of overgrown bouquets, accompanied by dancers camouflaged in further flower arrangements.
HIGHS’ single (recently premiered here on Indie88), showcases this rising local band’s talent, who’s ascending status has given the band the opportunity to share the stage with high profile acts like Modest Mouse and most recently Hollerado.
Their rise in market is not by chance in any means. Bringing to the table lush vocal harmonies interwoven by singers Doug Haynes and Karrie Douglas, with added afro-percussion and subtle guitar melodies, has garnered the band attention from fans of Local Natives, Dirty Projectors and Vampire Weekend.
Dazzle Camouflage will be released April 8 via Indica Records. Take a look at HIGHS’ elegant new video for “I Do, Do You” in the player above.
