Yi was formed in the winter of 2015 by Jordan Allen (Rolemodel) and Jesse Crowe (Beliefs) after the pair worked together on the song “Until” for the Jordan’s Rolemodel EP. The duo promptly accumulated enough material to ready two partnered EPs (coming soon via Hand Drawn Dracula). Indie88 is pleased to premiere the video for “Not So Dead,” the first single from EP No. 1.
“Not So Dead” and subsequent material from the forthcoming EP draws influences from indie rock heavyweights Sonic Youth and Dinosaur Jr., while EP No. 2 will lean on the stylings of Massive Attack, Sneaker Pimps, and Blur.

Yi added Luke Duross, Patrick McCormack (founding member of Beliefs), and Braeden Craig (Greys), to its live lineup in 2016. They currently have a pair of Canadian tour dates lined up for July:
