TORONTO, ON (May 8, 2015) – Toronto’s Indie88 (CIND-FM) has been named “Station of the Year (Rock)” at the 2015 Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Awards, as part of Canadian Music Week.
Even though the station is only in its second year on the air, this is Indie88’s second nomination for Station of the Year. Indie88 also received three other nominations for 2015: Program Director of the Year, Music Director of the Year and Promotion of the Year (second nomination).
The award winners were announced Thursday night during the annual industry event at The Grand Ballroom, Sheraton Centre Hotel, in Toronto. The Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Awards are presented to individuals and organizations that have made a significant contribution to the Canadian music industry in the past year.
Indie88 was also honoured earlier this week at The Crystals – an annual awards ceremony celebrating the best in radio creative across Canada. On Wednesday evening, Indie88’s “Be The Voice” contest won Best Radio Promotion Campaign for 2015.
Independently owned and operated, Indie88 puts an emphasis on playing new music by emerging artists and has been extra supportive of musicians from Toronto.
