#INDIESwithINDIE88: That’s A Wrap

The Canadian Music Week Indies Awards celebrate the best in local and international independent music, and last night was a celebration indeed.

Hosted by the fearless Raina Douris, bedazzled boot and all, last night was filled with magical music moments. Wintersleep took home the award for single of the year for their hit “Amerika”, group of the year went to The Strumbellas, The Zolas won alternative group, while Elwins took home the best rock group prize. Grimes, YOAN, City and Colour, A Tribe Called Red, Purity Ring, Chocolat, Coleman Hell, Jazz Cartier, Dan Mangan, and Alabama Shakes were also crowned winners last night.

While celebrating great Canadian music is exciting, it was the performances from Alberta Cross, The Zolas, The Strumbellas, and Wintersleep that had the crowd on their feet.
