How are you feeling today? I didn’t sleep much last night and just dropped a fried egg sandwich on the floor. It’ll turn around, onward! As per usual, I’m on air 1-5pm, feel free tune in, call in or text to tell me how you’re feeling, 416-588-0881.
Here’s a list of things to check out today.
The five second rule
Considering my start to the day, why not get the scoop on the 5 second rule – you know, whether or not you should eat something that has fallen on the floor. I have to be honest, I didn’t read this because I’m giving myself a no WebMD zone during the pandemic, but with the title reading “sometimes” I’m intrigued. Check it out here.
Listen to John Prine
I have to be honest, last night was tough for me after hearing about the death of John Prine. If you’re unfamiliar, he was a treasured folk songwriter who I’d say was a living silver lining. He had a beautiful observational humour and wit, and a hefty amount of wisdom in his lyrics. I’m still so sad about losing him. The outpouring of love online is a testament to his effect on the human spirit over his 5+ decades as an artist, if you haven’t dove into his music, now’s the time more than ever.
Watch Empire Records
April 8th is Rex Manning Day! If you’re unfamiliar about this fictitious holiday, time to watch the great movie Empire Records. Here’s a few other ways to celebrate via cinemablend.
Though not a replacement for social distancing or washing your hands or staying at home, if you would like a homemade mask, why not get one from local business Bathing Belle? The store in Roncy has switched up from hand making swimwear to sewing masks. Also, they have some pretty fun patterns. I’d got for the space dogs look, personally.
Tonight we’re back at it with a new band movie pick, The Strumbellas will be joining you in the chat as you watch Clueless! Think of Netflix Party as Band and a Movie… but you can chat in real time while watching at home on Netflix. All you have to do is download the Netflix Chrome extension before logging in via the link to the movie before it starts at 8pm, it’s very easy.
