Hey friend, me again, here with another list of suggestions to entertain you while in the great indoors. How are you feeling today? I think I should stop eating ice cream for dinner, but in some ways I feel like I’m finally living the dream of my 9 year old self. Let’s not psychoanalyze that, I still have half a carton of Moose Tracks left.
As always, we’re on air live at Indie88 and if you need some tunes, the latest info and a voice on the other end of those headphones, we’re here. You can always reach out and call or text 416-588-0881 @indie88toronto @lanagay
Here’s some suggestions for today:
Bob Dylan’s new track
When I woke up this morning and saw Bob Dylan’s name trending, I yelled “NO YOU DIDN’T COVID!” out loud to no one. Good news, Bob’s alive and well and just released his first new song since 2012, a 17 minute epic “Murder Most Foul,” which is about JFK’s assassination and more.
I’m going to use it as a timer every time I need to get groceries, you have to complete that trip before the song is done!
This week we launched our Netflix Party series – think of it as Band and a Movie… but you can chat in real time while watching at home on Netflix. Last night watching Fear with The Beaches was a wild ride, but we made it (The Beaches 4eva, RIP Gary, #TEAMDAD.)
Tonight it’s July Talk and The Matrix! Hang out with us! All you have to do is download the Netflix Chrome extension before logging in via the link to the movie before it starts at 8pm, it’s very easy.

Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness
With every day feeling like a week, I already have FOMO because I haven’t binged Tiger King yet. This strange show is genuinely bringing people together while apart, even though it looks like an SNL sketch gone wrong featuring a polyamourous tiger wrangler… who once ran for president?
Speaking of, within the last 24hrs it’s been announced Kate McInnon signed on to play the role of Carole Baskin in an upcoming production, and Joe Exotic has filed a $94 million dollar lawsuit against the US government and his former business partner.
I got nothin’.
Intrepid Travel recently launched a partnership with locals High Park Brewery, who made a batch of beer called Seeds for Change. Two trees will be planted for every beer purchased on behalf of The Intrepid Foundation AND they’ll also donate $1 from every bottle to the Toronto Foodbank, who are helping people in need get food safely.
So if you’re thinking of having an at home happy hour and need a beer, might I suggest getting a touch-less delivery or pick up from Highpark Brewery via boozer and try out Seeds for Change and help out many local folks all just by having a drink.
Virtual high fives to Intrepid and High Park Brewery!
As I always like to say, if you really love someone you make them a lasagna.
Well, whether you’re indoors with your spouse, family, roommates or just living that solo dream, here is perhaps the most complicated five star reviewed recipe for lasagna I’ve found so take your time (it’s a project now!) and enjoy it.
(Here’s a super easy recipe too.
Let’s be honest, pasta, sauce and cheese is going to be great no matter which one.)
Band Shirt Friday!
Check out this great US Girls shirt!
What a talent Meg Remy is – she should be on your radar if she isn’t already. A new album, Heavy Light, came out recently (add the track “Overtime” to your playlist” for sure and pick up a shirt if you can.
Don’t forget to tag @indie88toronto if you wear a band shirt today
