Here we are, week 8 and I’ve still managed to avoid doing my taxes or baking bread. How are you doing? I hope you’re feeling well and better now that there is a little light at the end of the tunnel (landscapers rejoice! You are back to work today!) It’s also May 4th, Star Wars Day!
May the fourth be with you. Here are some things to check out while we continue to enjoy the great indoors.

In honour of Star Wars day, let’s celebrate one of the most dysfunctional families in all the galaxy with this list of Star Wars Facts. Did you already know Yoda’s original name was supposed to be… Buffy?! If that was the case, would we even have Buffy the Vampire Slayer? These factoids might help you out during a Zoom trivia night.
Cook like Miles Davis
I don't know how I got here, but, indeed, I've just found not one but TWO of Miles Davis' chili recipes: https://t.co/lh6xNJeLSk

Look, I don’t know how I got here, but, indeed, I found not one but TWO of Miles Davis’ chili recipes. In his autobiography Davis wrote about his love of cooking, but never revealed the recipe for his favourite dish: Mile’s South Side Chili Mack. Well, now you have it and can cook like one of the most gamechanger jazz musicians in history and know his secret to a great chili – eating it on top of pasta.
Right now, in a galaxy not so far away, in the midst of a global pandemic, donors, volunteers and partners of #CanadasLifeline continue to ensure patients have access to lifesaving blood where and when they need it.
— Canadian Blood Services (@CanadasLifeline) May 4, 2020
We can’t forget that the need for blood is still there for people in trauma or with illness who need transfusions. If you’re eligible, you can still donate blood. Canadian Blood services do follow all the health protocols, obviously.
Frankly I’m a bit competitive with friends over my bleed time. I know that sounds weird and it is, but we can compare.
Blood.ca has all the info for you, but I’d get the app, which is very user friendly.

Drink your coffee like a Star Wars character
Star Wars Characters and how they make their coffee: a thread

Indeed I’m milking this Star Wars Day for all it’s worth, including this amazing twitter thread explaining how characters would drink their coffee. I mean, they do have coffee, it’s just called caf, right? Also, there’s nothing funnier than trying to imagine Kylo Ren using an aeropress.
That’s it for today. I hope you’re taking care over there, and let me know how the Miles Davis’ chili turns out!
