So how’s your week so far? Today’s a tough one, as it’s the year anniversary of Bookie’s death. What a genuine heart, brilliant mind and unique man he was. We miss him a lot here.
Hopefully you got the chance to listen to Bookie while he was on the air for decades. We’ll be celebrating his life and legacy on May 27th and please check back for more info as it’s announced. Bookie’s favourite band was Wilco, so let’s start this off with them, shall we?

The Rise of the 4 Day Work Week
The best reasons to implement the four-day week were apparent before the pandemic and have only grown more urgent over the past few months https://t.co/CfS6qQyy5I

While we all try to find a silver lining from this pandemic, perhaps a 4 day work week is it. New Zealand, one of the countries at the forefront of Covid recovery, has recently asked employers to consider implementing 4 day work weeks as a way to create more work life balance and boost tourism. According to this article “Research conducted on Microsoft workers in Japan last year showed that allowing workers to punch in four days a week and receive their regular five-day paycheck yielded a 40 percent productivity boost.” Maybe share this with your boss?
Though not a replacement for physical distancing or washing your hands, the city is now recommending wearing face covering or a homemade mask when you are on transit and in any situation when you can’t keep 6 feet away from someone. Why not get one from local business Bathing Belle? The store in Roncy has switched up from hand making swimwear to sewing masks. Also, they have some pretty fun patterns. I’d got for the space dogs look, personally.
Watch the Community table read
In case you missed it, the cast of Community came together for a virtual table read of the episode “Cooperative Polygraphy” to raise money for COVID-19 relief. To refresh your memory, the episode is the 4th from season 5, Donald Glover’s second last episode before he left the show.
