James Blake, Labrinth collaborate on new ‘Euphoria’ track ‘Pick Me Up’

James Blake and Labrinth have teamed up for a new song called “Pick Me Up.”

The track comes from the soundtrack to season two of the immensely popular HBO drama Euphoria. On “Pick Me Up,” Blake sings of running away with someone. Throughout the track, he croons lines like, “I have packed my bags and I am ready/ I’m ready to go/ Just take me anywhere.”

Opening with dreamy falsettos and pulsing instrumentals, “Pick Me Up” sounds perfect for Euphoria. As the track progresses, Blake’s vocals take the lead atop a sparse guitar line. The minimal track is powerful in its simplicity, letting the emotional vocal lines truly shine.

Earlier this month, Lana Del Rey shared a new track called “watercolor eyes” on the show.

Lana Del Rey and Euphoria feel like a pretty natural fit. The melodrama of the music and the show align pretty perfectly, so it was only a matter of time that Lana previewed new music on the show. “Watercolor eyes” marks LDR’s first new music since the release of Blue Banisters in October.

It’s no surprise that James Blake’s music made its way to the show either. Taking his dreamy falsettos and mixing it with Labrinth’s signature sound on “Pick Me Up” is the perfect recipe for an episode of the teen drama.

The soundtrack for season two of Euphoria is out on Februayr 25th via Interscope.
