James Blake shares dreamy one-hour sleep soundscape ‘Wind Down’

James Blake is back with an hour-long sleep soundscape, “Wind Down.”

The track was made for adaptive sound wellness app Endel AI, which makes “personalized soundscapes to help you focus, relax, and sleep,” the website explains. It’s all about helping users “move gently towards a good night’s rest.” If you’re looking to wind down, grab your blanket and tune into Blake’s stunning new track. The dreamy tune revolves around echoing, reverberating vocals, atmospheric synths, and sparse, thoughtful keys.

“‘Wind Down’ lets me explore the more ambient side of my music and create a project to support people in a new way,” Blake explains of the track. “It’s mesmerizing to hear how my music blends with the science-based sounds of Endel’s AI and I think we’ve invented something not just beautiful or even meaningful, but truly practical.”

Listen to “Wind Down” below.

“In approximately two hours, ‘Wind Down’ traces an arc from wakefulness to sleep based on scientific input from SleepScore Labs, which partnered with Endel on this project,” a press release explains.

James Blake recently collaborated with Labrinth on “Pick Me Up” for the soundtrack to Euphoria season three. On “Pick Me Up,” Blake sings of running away with someone. Throughout the track, he croons lines like, “I have packed my bags and I am ready/ I’m ready to go/ Just take me anywhere.”

Just like “Wind Down,” “Pick Me Up” is pretty dreamy. Opening with dreamy falsettos and pulsing instrumentals, “Pick Me Up” sounds perfect for Euphoria. The minimal track is powerful in its simplicity, letting the emotional vocal lines truly shine.
