Merry early Christmas!
For the tenth year running, Jason Collett of Broken Social Scene is throwing a holiday get together with his Basement Revue concert series.
Talk about happy holidays. The 2016 event will run through five evenings in December (December 1, 8, 15 and 29), at the Dakota Tavern. And on December 22, the Great Hall with host the final show.
Performers from across the globe will once again share the stage with local artists for a show created as “a showcase and an incubator for Canadian culture”.
Each concert was carefully designed by Collett and poet and literary curator Damian Rogers.
Last year’s festivities featured performances and discussions with A Tribe Called Red and Gord Downie, with previous acts ranging from Rufus Wainwright to Arkells.
