JFL42 cancels festival for 2020, reveals dates for 2021

The in-person festival has been cancelled, but they may be going virtual

Organizers behind Toronto’s JFL42 have cancelled this year’s in-person festival, which was set to take place from September 24th to October 3rd.

The 9th edition of the comedy festival won’t be taking place in person, but it appears they may be hosting some sort of virtual event.

“We had hoped for a different outcome and are so disappointed that we are all subject to this extraordinary context,” a statement reads. “While we are not moving forward with the festival in its current format, we believe that 2020 demands a new plan for us to continue to entertain and bring laughter during these unprecedented times. We are currently working on these new plans and will have an exciting announcement to share in the coming weeks.”

JFL42 has announced that its 2021 festival will run from September 23rd to October 3rd, and Trevor Noah’s headlining show will now take place on October 2nd, 2021.
