Jordan Peele announces forthcoming terror ‘Nope’ to star Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, Steven Yeun

Jordan Peele has announced his next movie, Nope.

The forthcoming film will feature a star-studded cast with Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, and Steven Yeun. Nope marks Peele’s third movie as director. It will serve as the follow-up to 2017’s Get Out and 2019’s Us.

Not much has been revealed about the movie, but it’s been described as a “thriller.” We also know that Nope will be an original story written by Jordan Peele himself.

Peele teased the film with a dreary (and eerie) new poster. The poster shows a cloud floating above a city in a dark night sky, as a colourful kite-like string comes flying from it.

Earlier this year, Kaluuya won Best Supporting Actor, making him the seventh-youngest Oscar winner ever. Yeun was also nominated for an Oscar for Best Actor. He also recently appeared in Peele’s television adaptation of The Twilight Zone.

Nope is out on July 22nd via Jordan Peele’s own Monkeypaw Productions in partnership with Universal.

Other project by Jordan Peele

Peele is quite busy, with several projects in the works. He is set to work on the upcoming remake of Wes Craven’s The People Under The Stairs. Additionally, Monkeypaw will release the new adaptation of Candyman in August.

Supernatural slasher film Candyman is set to serve as a direct sequel to the 1992 film of the same name. This makes it the fourth film in the Candyman film series. The movie, which is directed by Nia DaVosta and written by Jordan Peele, stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Teyonah Parris, Nathan Steward-Jarrett, and Colman Domingo. Additionally, Tony Todd and Vanessa Estelle Williams will be reprising their roles from the original flick.

Candyman made it onto our list of the most anticipated movies of 2021.
