Jorja Smith teams up with Sasha Keable for new duet and video, ‘Killing Me’

British singer-songwriter Sasha Keable has recruited Jorja Smith for a heart-rending break-up track, “Killing Me”.

The single sees the two sing soulfully about finding strength after a heartbreak. They croon, “I need to be loved by myself, It’s okay to ask for help”. The self-love ballad is paired with a clip directed by Olivia Rose, that sees bright red imagery and big hats.

Keable discussing the video with The FADER stated:

“Jorja and I really wanted this video to be reflective of a real traditional duet, and Olivia did just that. We actually used Beyoncé and Shakira ‘Beautiful Liar’ as a reference; we wanted the styling to be same same but different, respecting both our individual styles but allowing fleeting moments of not knowing who was who. Olivia also wanted to make sure we showed the true emotions of the song but through the female gaze to perfectly match a song all about us as women realising our worth.”

The track will appear on Keable’s forthcoming EP Intermission, set for release later this year. It will accompany prior singles, “Exception” and “Don’t Get Lost”.

Meanwhile, Jorja Smith has recently released her own single “All Of This”. The tune is the first release since her lush and genre-bending EP Be Right Back was released in May earlier this year.

“It’s called be right back because it’s just something I want my fans to have right now, this isn’t an album and these songs wouldn’t have made it,” Smith explained upon the project’s announcement. “If I needed to make these songs, then someone needs to hear them too.”
