Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas has a new solo record on the way, and although details are few and far between, we did get some news today. Casablancas has unveiled an album preview, as well as the name for his backing band, The Voidz. The 2 minute long trailer runs through what sounds like a few different songs from the forthcoming record, all of which sounds very different than one another. Chunky bass, pac-man sound effects, soft strings, and quick synths are just some of the sounds found in the video.
The record will be out through Casablancas’ own Cult Records and it’s the follow up to his 2009 release Phrazes For the Young.
