Julien Baker joins Phoebe Bridgers on stage to perform ‘I Know the End,’ ‘Graceland Too,’ cover of ‘One Man Guy’

Phoebe Bridgers recruited Julien Baker for a pair of tracks at her Berkeley, California concert over the weekend.

At William Randolph Hearst Greek Theatre, Bridgers surprised concert attendees with her boygenius bandmate. Julien Baker was the unannounced opener for the show, performing an eight-song set. That set featured tracks like “Blacktop,” “Funeral Pyre,” and “Happy To Be Here.” Baker’s final number was a cover of Loudon Wainwright III’s “One Man Guy,” which saw Baker joined by Bridgers.

Later in the set, Baker once again joined Bridgers on stage. At the end of the Punisher singer’s headlining set, Baker joined her to help out on “Graceland Too” and “I Know the End.”

In September, Julien Baker released her Little Oblivions Remixes EP. The new collection sees renowned artists reworking tracks from her recently released album, Little Oblivions. Little Oblivions Remixes features remixes from Half Waif, Helios, Gordi, Thao, and Jesu. It also features the remix of “Ringside” from Australian singer-songwriter Gordi.

Phoebe Bridgers has been quite busy as well. Earlier this month, she shared a cover of Bo Burnham’s “That Funny Feeling” to benefit Texas abortion funds. Bridgers’ rendition of the soft track is intimate, warm and emotive. With angelic vocals both heartrending and cozy, her signature sound brings something new to the quirky commentary song.

Julien Baker is no stranger to on-stage collaborations. In fact, she recently joined Hayley Williams and Becca Mancari at the Basement East in Nashville to perform “I’m Sorry.” Check out that performance in full here.
